We consulted with designers to uncover the top paint colors and styles anticipated to be popular in the upcoming year. Why not embrace bolder and more vibrant shades, or perhaps opt for a warm neutral if you typically favor color? No matter your style, these trending looks can easily add character to your home.

Color Drenching
Embracing a single hue across walls, trim, and ceilings, known as color drenching, is set to gain traction next year, according to many experts.
“You can use the same sheen throughout, or my favorite method is to vary the sheens on different surfaces,” remarks Suzan Wemlinger, founder of Suzan J Designs. “For a bold statement, consider using lacquer to color drench a room!”
Pops of Chartreuse
Prepare for vibrant greens to make waves in 2025. Amy Youngblood, founder of Amy Youngblood Interiors, champions the use of chartreuse. “This unique blend of yellow and green is lively without being overwhelming,” she explains. “It brings a playful, tropical feel to a room, particularly when paired with neutral furniture.”

Painted Trim
In a similar vein, Kerri Pilchik, founder of Kerri Pilchik Design, believes painting trim in the same or a complementary color to the walls will become increasingly trendy. “White trim now feels incomplete,” she notes, suggesting that using a different finish, like high gloss, is a smart choice.
Kelley Gable, founder of Gable Interiors, adds that accent trim will be favored over accent walls. “Accent trim is the new go-to,” she states.
Two-Tone Cabinetry
Add interest to your kitchen with innovative cabinetry. “Expect to see a surge in dual-toned painted cabinets,” mentions Melissa Oholendt, founder of Oho Interiors. This trend features cabinet exteriors painted one color with contrasting interiors, or a mix of colors on doors and trims. “This style has been popular in furniture for years, and it’s finally making its way into built-ins, which I adore,” she adds.

Pretty Purple
Purple is poised to make a statement next year, according to Sallie Lord, founder of GreyHunt Interiors. “Purple is gaining popularity,” she observes. “When combined with chartreuse, greens, yellows, and more, it’s a strong contender for the upcoming year.”
Wemlinger anticipates a greater use of shades like aubergine, plum, and mauve in 2025. “It’s not for everyone, but when chosen wisely for a room, it can create a significant impression,” she expresses. “People are ready for color but might prefer softer tones that still allow for a peaceful retreat at home.”
Lots of Light Green
Various shades of green, particularly lighter ones, will be in vogue next year, believes Lord. “Mint greens and soft teals are trending.” Embrace a coastal-inspired atmosphere by incorporating these colors into your home.
