Share your career journey and current projects.
I spent years in magazines as a fashion editor before transitioning to retail as Fashion Director at ByGeorge. In 2021, I launched my fashion newsletter on Substack, which is now my primary focus, alongside styling a few private clients and consulting.
What’s been your biggest lesson in the past year?
Embracing the leap to work independently has been monumental. I always hesitated due to perceived risks, but building my Substack while still employed made the transition smoother.

How would you characterize your personal style?
Practical, masculine, and playful.
What does a typical day entail for you?
With two kids, mornings are chaotic. I wake up with them, prepare breakfast, pack lunches, and rush them to school. After drop-off, I try to exercise—typically Lagree classes four times weekly. If I don’t work out, my energy shifts to anxiety. Post-exercise, I dive into writing or attend appointments.
Every day brings something new, but my work arrangement allows for flexibility.
What time do you usually wake up?
I often write at night after the kids sleep, usually logging off around 11:30. When I finally sleep, I’m out cold. I wake up when my kids do, typically between 6:30 and 7. Thank goodness they finally sleep past 6!
What’s the first thing you do in the morning?
First, I use the bathroom! Then I get out of my nightgown and bring the kids downstairs to get them fed. It’s like managing two bouncing balls in the living room—quite hectic! Often, I don’t brush my teeth until after my workout.

What rituals help you succeed?
I don’t have a strict morning routine, but I ensure my kids are prepared for their day. After exercising, I grab a quick bite—usually eggs with veggies or yogurt with slivered almonds—then I brush my teeth, do my skincare, and start working if I’m not off to a meeting.

Describe your morning beauty regimen.
I keep my routine very basic, both morning and evening. I’ve realized that my skin benefits from minimal manipulation. I stick to a few quality products in the morning.

I aim for high-protein meals. A favorite is two fried eggs over edamame and steamed spinach, topped with nutritional yeast and hot sauce. I also enjoy plain yogurt with cucumber and almonds. Simple is key for me, as I dislike cooking and cleaning up.
What’s always in your fridge?
Seltzer, yogurt, cheese, tortillas, and a drink like Ghia or Athletic Brew. I don’t drink alcohol, but I enjoy having something refreshing at the end of the day.

What books do you love?
I’m an avid reader! My Kindle is always close by for a quick read before bed, even if it’s just a page.

What can we find on your nightstand?

Your go-to getting-ready playlist?
I don’t have sophisticated taste in music—cheesy pop is my jam! “Run Away With Me” by Carly Rae Jepsen is my ultimate getting-ready track. I also enjoy this remix of The Very Best’s album, which might be cool!
Do you work out in the morning?
I prefer to get it done early. It clears my mind and sparks creativity. If I’m not in a Lagree class, I take long walks with friends at the beach—one of the perks of living in LA!

What’s your daily outfit like?
I enjoy getting dressed, but I’ve fallen into a routine that feels stale. I’m making an effort to appreciate my wardrobe more. When in a hurry, I gravitate towards my favorite Wrangler jeans, a Comme Si shirt, and loafers from The Row—an effortless yet polished look.

What are your top three wardrobe treasures?
- Junya Watanabe Fishtail Skirt
- Bright orange Hermès Victoria bag
- Dries evening coat
What advice do you have for mindful fashion collectors on a budget?
- Resale. Identify the designers you admire—like those from the 90s—and seek them secondhand.
- Be patient. It’s taken me over 15 years to build my collection.
- Embrace the search. I found my Prada heels on the RealReal for $120.
What fall trend are you excited about?
I don’t follow trends—focus on what resonates with you, and buy pieces you’ll cherish. If you’re unsure about your style, consider seeking help or doing additional research. Authentic expression is what makes fashion exciting.
Stay true to yourself and don’t conform to a mold that doesn’t fit.
If you had an extra hour each morning, how would you spend it?
Honestly, I’m not sure! I’d love to read quietly or lounge in bed, but I’d likely end up working or exercising. I often feel pressed for time and would fill that hour quickly.

What daily habits contribute to your happiness?
Exercise is essential for my well-being; I can’t function without it. Quitting drinking has also transformed my life, and I cherish snuggling with my kids—enjoying those touchy moments is vital for me!
If you had to pinpoint your success to one factor, what would it be?
Perhaps, a constant drive to seek success. It may sound bleak, but I often reflect on what more I can do to improve, which has been true throughout my career.

Sentence Finishers:
I never leave home without: my phone.
If there were more hours in the day, I would: stress about how to use that time!
Healthiest morning habit: exercising.
Worst morning habit: neglecting my dental hygiene before drop-off.
I want to be remembered for: my warmth and kindness.
My biggest fear: disappointing my kids.
When I feel afraid: I tend to spiral!
The book I recommend most: The Art Of Fielding and In One Person.
One trait essential for success: persistence and kindness.
Bath or shower? What’s your favorite product? Both! I adore baths, but typically shower. My go-to product is Hanni’s splash salve, as it simplifies post-shower moisturizing.
