I have a confession. When I was first given the chance to explore Summer Fridays, I mistakenly noted the brand as “Sunday Riley,” which is a different but similarly popular brand known for its standout product. Thankfully, I clarified this mix-up in time to properly experience Summer Fridays’ impressive line.

Over several weeks, I incorporated Summer Fridays essentials into my daily routine—a vitamin C treatment, a lightweight cream, an all-in-one face oil, a lip balm, and a vitamin C eye cream. I indulged in the effective Jet Lag Mask and even tried the sheer skin tint that left my complexion radiant. Although my experience with Summer Fridays was largely positive, some products truly stood out.

Read on for my candid evaluations of some of Summer Fridays’ most sought-after offerings.

The Story Behind Summer Fridays

Notably, the brand was co-founded by Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland, who are both well-known beauty influencers with substantial followings. In 2018, they debuted Summer Fridays with just one product, the Jet Lag Mask, and have since expanded their vegan, cruelty-free lineup. Today, Summer Fridays is among the most coveted skincare brands, available at retailers like Sephora, Selfridges, and NET-A-PORTER.

“Neither of us has an ego when it comes to making decisions,” Ireland shared in an earlier interview. “Founders—especially co-founders—can sometimes hinder their own success by letting ego influence their choices. Putting the brand first simplifies decision-making. I suggest this approach for everyone, in business and beyond.”

Summer Fridays Cloud Dew Moisturizer

Cloud Dew Gel Cream Moisturizer

Like most Summer Fridays products, Cloud Dew comes in an elegant glass jar. True to its name, the pink-tinted gel is incredibly light on both your skin and fingers.

If you prefer a thick cream, Cloud Dew isn’t for you. However, as a lightweight hydrator, its oil-free formula delivers significant benefits thanks to hyaluronic acid, glycerin, amino acids, and a vitamin-rich pineapple enzyme. This jelly-like moisturizer glides effortlessly and leaves skin feeling smooth.

Final Thought: This is an ideal summer moisturizer. While it may not hold up during harsh winter conditions, it’s perfect for warmer months. To enhance its hydration, simply mix in a few drops of the brand's face oil.

Heavenly Sixteen All-In-One Face Oil

This product is a true standout. The Heavenly Face Oil is luxuriously packaged, featuring a stunning glass jar with an orange ombre effect that enhances its appeal as it gets used.

For anyone seeking deep hydration, this face oil excels. With essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and black currant, it boosts skin without leaving an oily residue.

Final Thought: This is an excellent introduction for anyone new to face oils. Its versatile formula is user-friendly and reasonably priced compared to other high-end oils. Plus, it provides a lovely glow.

Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream

As I enter my 30s, my biggest skin concern has become dark circles. For me, effective eye creams must be intensely hydrating yet lightweight.

Final Thought: I wished for a touch more moisture, but the eye cream’s ingredients—caffeine, vitamin C, and peptides—enhanced my morning routine. My under-eye area looked brighter and less puffy, making it a solid choice for daytime use.

CC Me Serum with Vitamin C + Niacinamide

This was among the first products introduced after the Jet Lag Mask, and it has a dedicated following for good reason. The CC Me Serum smells fresh and comes in a protective opaque pump bottle, featuring two potent forms of vitamin C.

While I noticed brightening and evening effects on my skin, I wasn’t thrilled with the texture. It’s lightweight, but it doesn’t absorb as well as expected, which can lead to a slightly tacky feel.

Final Thought: Overall, it’s a solid vitamin C serum. However, I would likely choose SkinCeutical’s more expensive (but less fragrant) formula instead.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm

Lip Butter Balm Vanilla

As someone who often deals with dry lips, I expect a lot from lip treatments. This one, however, didn’t fully meet my needs. While it provides a beautiful glossy finish, its moisturizing properties fell short.

Final Thought: If you’re after a visually appealing product, the Butter Balm, available in various tints, is great. Just ensure your lips are already hydrated.

*Note: Many reviewers rave about the Butter Balm, even earning nominations for several Allure Readers' Choice Awards. Perhaps it’s just me—maybe I’m the outlier.

Summer Fridays Sheer Tint

Sheer Skin Tint With Hyaluronic Acid + Squalane

Everyone, please hold your applause while I rave about a tinted moisturizer that changed my opinions on tinted products.

Summer Fridays’ first makeup release delivers impressive coverage. It applies smoothly and absorbs beautifully, leaving skin luminous and hydrated with hyaluronic acid and squalane. I’m so enamored with its dewy finish that I often mix it with my go-to foundation for added coverage.

Final Thought: This product is fantastic. The only improvement would be a built-in SPF, but that might just be me being overly demanding.

Jet Lag Mask + Moisturizer

While I enjoyed many Summer Fridays products, I found my skin often craved extra hydration. The Jet Lag Mask, the brand's flagship offering, truly comes to the rescue. It’s thick yet maintains a lightweight feel, providing intense moisture that seems like a beauty secret.

Formulated without fragrance, this mask is suitable for sensitive skin. The formula, enriched with niacinamide, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid, comes out white but applies clear, making it an excellent primer for extra hydration.

Final Thought: The Jet Lag Mask might appear pricey, but its versatility and effectiveness justify the cost. The 28-gram “mini moisturizer” option is a great, budget-friendly alternative.
